“I went back to the grocery store five times in a row to get $10 off my next purchase coupons. I was buying cereal that gave me $X off my purchase if I bought 5 or more boxes, plus they counted towards the $10 off my next purchase coupon. The cashiers were laughing at me on trip five, but I ended up with 50 boxes of free cereal. I kept half and donated half to the Alameda County food bank. Laugh away, cashiers.”

My mom and I drove 50 miles to get a Cabbage Patch Kid Christmas eve.
When I was 13, my mom had me go buy some expensive toner from the Elizabeth Arden counter at the mall so that we can get another of its “free” gift bags. Does a 13 year old need toner, much less an expensive one? No! But that’s how I got my bargaining bug.
I’ve stood in line for hours with my sister just to spend time with her and to save $100. 🙂
