I run because it is who I am. I run because I’ve always run. I run because it makes me feel good. I run because it helped me get through a diagnosis of autism with my second child. I run because it helped me get through my breast cancer diagnosis last year. I run because after every chemo treatment, instead of feeling sorry for myself, I donned my sneakers, put on my tights, went for a run and was able to feel empowered. I run because that’s what I’ve always done.
To enjoy the outdoors with my friends!!
Running is cheaper than therapy 😉
I run for so many reasons. I run for therapy, I can work through all the things that weigh on my mind. I can escape the world when I am out running in the woods. However, I also run because my kids run. I have two sons that have a physical disability and it was the one sport that I could get them to participate in. I put them on the xcountry team team to be with peers and participate. I ran behind them in case they fell or couldn’t make it. Today they run on the xcountry team and track team…and they are not the last ones to cross the finish line. My daughter also runs on the team and I enjoy sharing that with her. That makes running special for me!!!
Why do I run? “To support my food habit.”
