Working Out
I play competitive beach volleyball and the impossible tops are the only I’ll wear to play. The completely adjustable straps that DON’T pull on my neck are great. Good coverage without being matronly. I used to only order the bottoms as well, but they are no longer cut right on the leg, but higher which I don’t care for. I do prefer the darker colored straps and having most of the pattern be darker so it looks cleaner longer 🙂
I live aboard a sail boat and wear swimsuits every day. We sailed the Pacific for 12 years and are now in the Caribbean. My Title Nine swimsuits really hold up to salt water, constant wear, washing and drying on the life lines…
My passion is whitewater kayaking. A top/rash guard is great for sun protection and protection from the elements . This is the first season that I’ve seen swim tights. I’d like these to be cut a bit taller in the back to help protect when you’re sitting in your boat which can be for hours. I also want full or ankle length to protect your legs from poison ivy, brush, etc. when scouting and from the interior of the boat. I’ve been using running tights. A material that wicks moisture and no cotton is best. I’m hoping a store has some tights that I can try. Though you’re wearing a life jacket and neoprene skirt ,there’s no reason not to be fashionable. By the way, a swim in this sport is pretty much the last thing you want to do! It means that you missed your roll or got in trouble and had to exit your boat. Not the best thing to happen.
I like the patterns and longevity of T9’s swimsuits, but I don’t often order them anymore. As a swimmer, paddler and diver, I need something without strings that tie (or rather, that UNtie). But living in the tropics, I like your bikini designs with less coverage (not tankinis/shorts) to avoid strange tan lines when I wear other suits. I’d love to see a regular clasp halter around the back and around the neck, and also a top with regular bra-style straps. I’m not a huge fan of the underwire as that can get irritating if you are in it for too long and it doesn’t quite fit in the right places. There’s gotta be a compromise!
The Amnesty Bottom is almost perfect. The rear, front and side coverage and fit were exactly what I was looking for, however, the crotch area is way too narrow! Please widen it to match the coverage area of your other suits. (It’s about half the width. Why?!?!)
The Gidget 2.0 Dress is perfect!
I loved my new swimsuit. I got the tankini, bra type top and Amnesty bottom. Haven’t worn a two piece is years. My only problem is that I was afraid to move in it as the Amnesty bottom was cut WAY too narrow. I had tried the suit on before vacation and didn’t notice it, but man, when I got to the beach it was a bit breeze. I went up to my room and checked it out in the mirror…well….too much was showing! Embarrassing! I wore my cover-up when walking and just sat. Pretty disappointed. Then I called Title Nine to send me another one, which was the same. In comparison to last years Amnesty bottom, which I also had there was at least 1″ or more difference. I am not sure how any one can wear these, especially someone who wants to be active on the beach. I am very appreciative of Title Nine’s customer service and that they’ll let me return it. But I really liked the suit and haven’t seen one yet to replace it 🙁
Besides swimming with a masters team 4-5 times per week, a small group of us have been traveling the world doing open water swims. We have been to Italy, Turkey, Croatia and are heading to Sardinia this summer. The week long swim holidays are very relaxing. I really wish T9 had a triangle top two piece that was designed for competition swimming. I have not worn a T9 swimsuit in years because your two piece suits are not made for long swimming.
I am a 56 year old runner who likes to swim as cross training. I am 106 lbs and a 30A. I do not consider myself a “little girl,” nor so I think I don’t deserve to be called a “real woman,” yet you make very very few tankinis that will fit me. I find most of your swimwear marketing insulting. Luckily, having been this size my whole life, I really don’t care what other people think, but if you are going to ask my opinion . . . .
I WHOLEheartedly agree on the stinging “real” women judgment. Being small in size does not mean that I am less than authentic, less able to get out and go, or less deserving of respect. I understand the intent — Title Nine advocates for women to play big and be limitless (whilst stylish and comfortable) in the pursuit of a full, happy, active life…the blurb may be even more inspiring if written in a positive tone in order to more genuinely reflect that — clothing made for real adventure, real life.
p.s. I’m one of the ones who needs a smaller bikini top, but that also has warrior support…that’s the result that nursing babies has had on this body — doesn’t get much more “real” than that… 😉
I am 40yrs old and breast cancer survivor (21 months in remission!). After surgery and radiation I started getting symptoms of Lymphedema in my right arm. My doctor recommend swimming to help with the swelling and pain. My first thought was “oh I am so getting the RealDeal suit!!” I got one about a year ago and fell in love with it! I am swimming 3-5 miles per week in the pool and I love the way it moves with me. So much so, when the purple one came out this year I got that one too! I get compliments frequently on the bold bright colors and the style of the one piece suit. I love everything about it!!!
Thanks for making me feel fancy while I’m getting healthy again!!
I am 62 years old and have been wearing the Real Deal Tankini swim suit style since the beginning of this design, and I can not remember when that was …..but at least 10 years ago.
I’ve been swimming all my life, and I’ve been ordering swimsuits from Title Nine way way before they decided to open up retail stores. I guess I’m showing my age! I’m swimming faster than I did in my 20 ‘s and have done masters swim for awhile, but it’s really hard to keep up with those triathletes who are at least 20 years younger than I.
I just keep on swimming…..doing my thing.
I will turn 50 in a few days and spend the winter camped on a fabulous beach in Baja California Sur, Mexico. I swim, paddle board, kayak and hike everyday with women 10-25 years my senior. They ask on a regular basis where I get my swimwear.
A few years ago I did a mile long open water swim to an island in the Sea of Cortez. Now an annual event, this year I was joined by 8 others, half of them women and most of them in their late 60s. The activities of this generation are impressive and how we look and feel in our active wear is important.
Thanks for making us want to gear up and keep going!
