Working Out
“Sometimes you get cold feet because you should. Don’t always dismiss it as nothing.”
Sigh…this divorced, mother of 1, should have listened.
Advice I ignored; I grew up with a dysfunctional religious zealot who stated time and time again I wasn’t good enough and being happy wasn’t important. I didn’t listen and now I am a super happy and contented woman who put herself through school, is a successful marriage and family therapist, wife, mother, runner, who loves life and took the advice of Jospeh Campbell and followed my bliss. Next up? Yoga certification, more races, writing and exploring the world.
Stick with your job through times of change even if you think something “else” looks better. Be patient.
Best advice I can give…listen to your kids. There is plenty to learn from them!
When I was in my 20’s a psychic once told me to spend more time with my Grandma. I was busy with work & friends (and she lived 8 hours away) so I didn’t take the time soon enough. Stupid young me!
pay attention to your GUT feeling it is always right !!!!
“Maybe you should walk away and wait until it’s really your time.”
“You should go to med school.” 25 years later and I’m realizing medicine really is what I love and I’m heading back to study nursing.
“To grow your business, you have to sell it yourself.”
Didn’t want to do it; fought it for 8 years. Been selling it myself for 2 years and it’s going gangbusters.
Family is family, it’s all you’ve got. When bad thing happen in a family there is a way out. Brave people make that step to remove themselves to protect themselves and others.
I’m an art major…with a Master’s in Art Education. In college, a friend once asked me whether I wanted to get married so my husband could “support my art habit”.
