Working Out
Don’t smoke!!! After cancer I figured it out
Advice I ignored: “You’ll never succeed at [whatever]. You might as well quit now.”
30 years later … I haven’t quit, and you’re history.
It really isn’t that big of a deal. This from my mom about dealing with my kids behavior
When I was a new supervisor at a mine/refinery I had worked at for nearly 20 years, I was told to keep my head down and mouth shut. I didn’t, and 2 years later was laid off in what felt more like politics than economics. I might have saved my job if I had followed the advice, but not my soul. I don’t have any regrets. Now I am running for the House of Representatives in my state of Wyoming, and some of the greatest support has come from working class people. These are the people I have cared about all along. And no, I will not keep my head down or my mouth shut. Underdogs can’t afford to.
One of my favorite bumper stickers I saw years ago is,
“Well behaved women never made history.”
Good luck on your race!
did buy google stock but sold too soon wish I had listened and held it another year
I wish I had listened
Watch your money! !! $$!!
I asked someone to pray for our special needs daughter…they said don’t have anymore kids…how empty my life and the world would be without her little brothers, Peter, Joseph, and little sister Cecilia….yes it would have been easier for me but life is beautiful even if it is a sacrifice!
“Start saving for retirement now.” My first boss out of grad school at 30 told me that and it seemed so far away to me then. I was able to start saving at 35 and I’m so grateful that I did.
I was hard of hearing and experienced sudden hearing loss as a teenager. School officials advised that I shouldn’t begin French class or continue to play the clarinet. I chose to ignore that advice!
I recently completed my graduate degree and along the way, my husband kept telling me that “I’d never complete grad school with a 4.0 grade point average.” I did!!
I’ve been ignoring people who tell me that I can’t do something all of my life!
