Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).

I would use this board to realize the Zen of my soul and pass this essential goodness- the ability to surf the 10,000 joys and sorrows of human existence- on to the multiple individuals, couples and families I work with on a daily basis- as well as anyone I may come into contact with throughout my life on this glorious planet. I work with many humans who have survived the unthinkable and are continually faced with what seem to be insurmountable challenges, and I would like to return at least some of the inspiration they have shared with me.
I have watched my wife look out to sea
searching for the woman she wished to be.
I wished I knew just what to say
to bring her solace and peace each day.
I think I’d silence her doubts inside
If I could teach that girl to ride.
She’s a strong provider for the family
but she needs to taste the salty sea.
She needs to surf and splash and play
and for that reason, this I say:
Please give the board, to me, a man
So I can hear her say “I can!”
My name’s Sasha, I’m a dog.
Mom walks me to the beach each morning because I love watching birds and surfers. I can’t get in the water because…well, I’m afraid. Plus, my mom doesn’t like to bathe me everyday (salt water’s murder on my hair). Then, I got this idea: if I had a surfboard, I could be in the water but not get wet AND I’d have a flotation device so I’d be safe. I’d conquer fear by confronting it. So here I go! Please give me the board. PS. I promise to keep my nails trimmed.
This surfboard would not go to me, it would instead go to my younger sister. She deserves this surfboard because for the past three years, she has watched my friends and I out in the water and has always wanted to join us with a surfboard of her own. We don’t have the money to afford a surfboard for her due to her surgery this coming August, which will leave her in bed for the rest of the summer. She does not know about this contest, but if I was to win the surfboard for her it would be a great surprise..it would be a pre surgery gift for her. She loves the water as much as me and I know this would definitely make her summer. Surfing to us is a way of life, and I would love nothing more than to see my little sister riding a wave right beside me.
I have wanted my very own surfboard my entire life and at age 39, I am so ready to take it down the road to the Glenwood Springs Play Park and carve up that big standing wave. Just 3 years ago I took my first surf lesson at the beach and have been totally passionate about surfing.ever since. My other passions are skiing, whitewater kayaking, biking; road and mountain along with yoga to keep in shape and boyfriend Woodchuck. All of my Aspen Cardiac Rehab students would loudly cheer if I win the sweet Carve surboard and so would I!
The dream to surf has long been mine
and all I need: a board divine.
To carry me upon the wave,
and feel the ocean, this I crave.
As all my cares rush out to sea,
the enchanted board, it carries me.
To feel the thrill of nature’s flow,
upon this magic board I go.
One day this dream just might come true
on a sustainable ride of white and blue.
Thank you Carve and Title Nine,
to dream this board could become mine.
I have always been a very active person, but I have not always been fearless. Now that I have 2 daughters, I have learned to live fearlessly through them and found my inner spirit in the process. I am exhilirated by trying new things and pushing myself harder, and I want to instill that same desire in my children as well. This surfboard would allow me to feel the wind in my hair, the water beneath my feet and the incredible feeling of being truly fearless! It would also make an awesome 41st birthday present!
I long to live near the beach. To greet each day with the music of waves meeting the shore. To fall asleep to the calm of a cool ocean breeze.
Alas, I am landlocked in Texas. Luckily, I am near a lake where people kayak, scull and canoe…and, most recently they stand on surfboards and paddle. This new sport really intrigues me. It seems to be a way to become one with our peaceful lake while getting a challenging workout.
If I win this surfboard it will provide me with a chance at a new sport and, most importantly, a connection with the water for which I’ve been longing!
I want to be the kind of woman who muscles a board across the sand with tan feet; hands gripped around its sides with purposed, steady strides, entering the water like a queen. I’m also afraid. All the more reason to try.
On Martha’s Vineyard during a New Year’s celebration, I went for a run on the beach. Wasn’t a soul in sight, and then I saw a lone surfer cruising on January sea froth. He did something I longed to do- rode fast on hues of grey- sky, waves- and he was a far away bobbing dot, free.
In life’s path, milestones can be the opportunity to realize dreams, try new things, or set a new course in life. This summer two significant milestones provide me the opportunity to rediscover adventure; both Hawaii and I will celebrate our 50th birthday! Though Hawaii is the state of my childhood, the opportunity to learn to surf never materialized despite a deep desire. If I win this really sweet surf board, I would celebrate with a return to my home state, learn to surf, and mark this major milestone in both my life and Hawaii’s.
