If I was given this board, I would take my little girl out on the beautiful blue sea and give her happy memories that no one could take from her. This would be my gift to her, something that cannot be sold, stolen or given away. I grew up on a boat when I was a little girl and the best memories I have with my Dad are from that time. I want to give my little girl those kind of memories because I’ve been a lousy mother to her and often I’ve been very sad. I feel better now, but the damage is done. I want to repair that damage. I want to surf with my daughter and make her forget about all those dark moments. I want to show her that I love her by doing something that she and I love and can do together. I don’t want her to sit on the beach anymore wishing she could go out onto the waves. I don’t want to tell her one more time that she’s too young to go out alone. I can’t wait to see her smiling eyes when I tell her that I can go surfing with her!
This Carve surfboard is not for conquering the wave. It’s the medium for one of the most beautiful things humans can do– to become one with nature. It’s the opportunity for us to not challenge nature, but rather to be one with it. It’s life changing every time. The wave’s embrace promotes constant activism for our earth and oceans. If I am lucky enough to be an owner, please know this board will be used for more than just a weekend ride– but also a constant reminder of our responsibility and stewardship of this earth. In Solidarity, Nancy Stevens
Nigh to landlocked and busted, that is the nature of my being. Hailing from the Midwest next to a great lake without great waves, and saddled with a busted lower back, I longed to escape. My wish is to be one with nature and ride the water. Blessed with an artificial disc, my spine is now more sound than anyone’s, really. Dreamin’ to ride this board, balanced, my arms wavin’, a “woo-hoo” on my lips unheard over the sound of the surf. Instead of just surfin’ the web, I will be surfin’ a wild ride. If only…

I am the ultimate Powerball winner dreamer and on that list which is not limited to things like traveling to Bali with a group of strong and like-minded women and hiking Havasupai in Arizona with my kids, I have at the top of my list Surf Camp. As agal who lives in Minnesota, I am a tad land locked, but that will never stop me. I want my daughter to see what is out there in the world, the diversity, the beauty, and that her mom can get up on a board and be courageous to try something new.
Everyone seems to have compelling stories as to why they should have this lovely board. Some stories are sad and some are poetic. I don’t know that mine is either. I want this board to ride, I want it even more to give my daughter a happy memory of her and I doing something together. I have not always been a good Mum and often have been really sad. When I was a little girl I grew up on a boat. All my best memories from childhood are from that time with my Dad. I want to give her a gift like that, one that can’t be sold or given away or stolen. I want to surprise her by going surfing with her, because I told her she couldn’t go surfing alone since she is too young. She always has to sit and watch her older brother surfing. We usually only have 2-3 foot waves here, but that doesn’t matter because we’d be together!
My mom really likes to surf. She has a dream to surf somewhere butiful and to catch a big wave. But she cant because we live in Idaho and there are rivers and lakes but no oceans with big waves. So Id like to give her this as a present for being a very good mom. She has done so many things for me and my sister and I want to give her this so she can have her dream. We could go somewhere and have the most funnest time of our lives.

At the age of three I taught myself how to swim in our backyard swimming pool. By fourth grade I had a subscription to “Surfer magazine,” even though I lived in Lansing, Michigan surrounded by the Great Lakes. These lakes were my fantasy oceans. I swam and dove competitively during Junior High School. At the age of 54 I started swimming daily before working with “At-Risk” high school students in a program designed to help credit deficient students graduate from high school. I still want to learn to surf! I’d put this board to good use!
Sounds dreamy, sounds fun, a board anyone would love, including me!
Along came a plank
To teach me about the sea
Chiseled diamond reflections
Dancing midnight blooms
Floating on a droplet of
An ocean-sky of blue.
It is my lifelong dream to surf. As a small girl, I remember my dad being a great surfer. He left before he could teach me his skills. I am quite certain that it is in my dna though.
My 3 daughters share my dream with me. Just the other day, my 4 year old made a picture with cut outs from your catalog of women carrying surfboards and surfing. She said, “this is because you will be a surfer girl”.
Surfing is a true art that I want to express myself with and share with my daughters
