Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).
Heads Up: Our contests are only open to Title Nine eMail subscribers. They are our way of saying thanks to our loyal customers. So if you aren’t already a subscriber you will become one by submitting your entry. Click Here to read the official rules.
I wish to give this surfboard to my daughter, Shannon. She is 13, an awkward age for many girls, but she also has Dyslexia. She is tall and athletic, but was teased a lot while growing up. Self confidence is something she is working on improving.
She has worked very hard for many years on improving her reading skills, and never gives up on her studies. Her dream is to become a Marine Photographer, something that seems very adventurous to us here in Illinois. She has a natural talent for photography, often taking better pictures than many of the adults I know. This Surfboard would be a symbol of her desire to catch the wave of adventure in her future. A future full of academics, athleticism, and friendships. She could place her favorite pictures on the surfboard, as she dreams of her adventures to come.
HI, I know the contest is over. I intended to enter every day for 6 weeks . I am turning 50 on June 10th and just learned to surf 3 years ago. My smile was from ear to ear and my heart grew like the Grinch’s. I own a small retail shop for over 20 years and just closed it May 31st. The reason.? To surf more and start really enjoying life. I went to an all girls surf camp on the North Shore this past March and never have I felt so strong, accomplished and fullfilled. All because of surfing. I know I missed the deadline, but I still wanted to share my story. Thanks, Debbie Fuentes
I deserve this captivating board because it clearly has captured me.
I’ve written 4 poems in her honor.
Imagined the possibilities.
I’ve done amazing things
Riding life’s coaster.
Don’t believe in dwelling on hard times
Everyone shares that in living.
Deserve this board? Of course.
Raised a beautiful family
Still married
Moved 2400 miles
For family
For job
3 weeks before my 50th.
New grandma at 52.
Midway PT after Harley crash.
So glad to be alive, how could I not deserve to win!
Just to keep taking the risk
Having the trust is what living is all about!
I’m dead. My daughter, Kaya and her granddaughter, Sanya are waxing the board. My board, vintage, priceless, their board. All the dings make her perfect and ageless like an eternal concert entering crescendo. My great granddaughter is about to catch her first big one. I’m behind her, not letting go just yet. I’ll push her into the wave, but it has to be perfect. We both know I’m still there, the little one just can’t pinpoint me. What a thread… Joy for the mom helping her 4 daughters and son through life’s swells.

I learned how to surf in 1985 as a sophomore at U.C.S.B., borrowing any patched-up oversized wetsuit I could from the guys. I fell in love with the long board and the thrill of riding the waves.
My last planned surf trip was put on hold three years ago when my mom was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Time moved forward and my mom passed away. The girls are hatching plans for a trip and it’s time that I return to my roots – – this board would just make the journey that much sweeter.
When I win this surfboard, there’s so much I will do
I’ll teach my mom to carve a wave
And win the Mavericks too!
And while I rest from teaching kids good form
I’ll use it to shelter stray dogs from a storm
I’ll take glamour shots, this board by my side
And charge cash for charity to take you for a ride
I’ll surf marathons to clean up the deep sea
Just me, the waves, and my Entropy.
Oh most beautiful Carve surfboard, channel the forces below my feet thru my body.
Medium of balance, solid boundary forever dynamic, fuse my human desire with nature’s power.
Waves admire, adore you, bow down to serve you. I will cherish you.
Oh most beautiful Carve surfboard, may the crest swell to meet you always.
I am a professional sustainability consultant—I reduce carbon footprints of big companies. Now it is time to reduce my own carbon footprint to net zero. How do I accomplish this—by biking to the beach, hopping on my sustainable surfboard and learning to surf sustainabily…not bad at just turning 40!
SUSTAINABLE SURFING is born thanks to titlenine, Carve and Entropy! My total carbon footprint reduction of sustainable surfing will be calculated then sent to titlenine and Surfing magazine all by the time I turn 41!

Land locked her whole life you would never know when Anna steps into the water. Anna packed up all her wintery layers and cruised to California to be one with her element. Surfing all winter, braving the chilly waters she was at peace but only one thing was missing…………..A surf buddy. If she had an extra board she could share the passion with all the diva’s at work.
