Run, Arctic darkness.
Appearing–dances of light
lighten my footfalls
Colors of winter.
Pure blue sky meeting white snow.
A bright red cardinal!
Lights glow from within.
Arriving at Grandma’s house.
Apple pie just right.
Silence all around,
Floating flakes spiraling down
blanket the moment.
Leaves have been falling
the branches are almost bare
cold days are ahead
Windy City, snowflakes pretty
If you grab and hold
They fade to tears
Snow diamonds sparkle,
winter whiteness shines in silence,
cold crystal rainbow
I raked all day
The worms and squirrels laughed
Again the leaves fall
Crisp the winter air
White flakes falling deaf to the ground
Joyous are the silver bells
Each year December
Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa
Lights, love, a promise
