A season of peace
Only one is greater than us all
Let us remember and live well
I wait for springtime —
but in the waiting
I have missed Winter!
Move and feel alive
Heart pounding and legs pumping
Made it to the top!
I feel most at peace
In nature’s endless beaty
A part of the world
Frosty face, snow on
My eyelashes, falling down
Warm home not too far
Ice, cold, wind and snow
Don’t stand in my way, for I’m
An active woman!
holiday greetings to all
wishes for fun and good cheer
peace and contentment
Whiteface not open
My sons will go mad soon if
They do not surf snow
Feet hitting the ground
Courage whispers to my heart
Move forward today!
It is with great synchronicity that I (re)submit this hiaku…
Being the day after Thanksgiving, I decided to “spring clean” before I decorate for the holidays (for whatever reason, I started with my home office)… and I came across a post it note with the haiku I came up with for LAST year’s T9 Haiku contest. I found it burried beneath pinnings on the bulliten board in my den. How ironic to come across this contest again today on your website. Adding to the magic tonight is upstate New York’s first snowfall of the season… May you find inspiration buried beneath winter’s blanket of snow all season long!
Bold as the mountain.
Brave as the leaves that let go.
Beautiful as snow.
