Because we get so many questions about our “models,” I thought I’d share some of our guidelines:
Rule #1: If you’ve always wanted to be a model, you can’t model for us. We only use gals with real bodies — no additives or preservatives.
Our “models” have real jobs or consuming passions. Since we spend a LOT of time with our “models,” they’ve gotta be interesting and interested, someone with whom we’d want to spend a lot of time.
And always, unselfconsciously confident.
In the end, our “models” are regular women, leading regular lives, lives not so very different from our own.

I would like to nominate my daughter-in-law, Sari Anderson as a “model” for your catalog. She lives in Carbondale CO, and is a professional athlete with her own blog at SariAnderson.com. She is a beautiful mother, wife, athlete, and part time office manager. She is passionate about competing, even when nursing babies, and has traveled all over the world as an adventure racer, mountain biker, and skier. Check out the most recent ski mountaineering race she just competed in last weekend on her blog. She works very hard to stay balanced and for all her strengths and wins, she remains supportive and passionate towards all female athletes.
I hope you will consider her, or at least read about her. ( She does not know I am doing this! )
Hi Michelle-
Holy cow! Sari Anderson is super-woman. You’re right, she’s a terrific athlete and exemplifies what we look for in a model. At this time, we don’t have any modeling opportunities with Title Nine. Should anything arise, we’ll be sure to reach out to her (through her blog). Thank you for taking the time to nominate Sari. Seriously, we were inspired by her endeavors (I’ve even bookmarked her blog). Thank you! –Jen@T9
My wife, Carla, would be a great role model and model. She is the most beautiful woman ever, and is very athletic last year she took a gold medal in the Montana State Games 1/2 marathon (45-49 age group) then in the fall she took a gold medal in the Govenors Cup 1/2 marathon (50-54 age group). She works as an operating room nurse. She is an inspiration to all those who know her. She is the best “momma dog” as well for our 2 dogs. Please consider her for a role model/model. She doesn’t know I sent this.
Hi Dwight,
Thanks for nominating your wife Carla as a Title Nine model. At this time, our model line-up is full however, should an opportunity arise, we’ll reach out to you (since we now have your contact info). Carla sounds like a great, well-rounded and athletic woman and we love that here at Title Nine. We won’t tell her you posted this but we DO wish her luck with her next marathon! Thanks again, –Jen@T9
I would like to nominate my son’s 5th grade teacher as a “rolemodel” for your catalog. She is a teacher of excellence here in our local Oakland, Ca. public school, an avid, and I’ve heard excellent rock climber, and cute to boot! Please let me know how to proceed with this.
Thanks, Diane
Hi Diane,
Thank you for nominating your son’s 5th grade teacher. We love it that she’s an educator and a rock climber (awesome!). At this time, our model line-up is full. Should an opportunity arise, we’ll be sure to reach out to you so that we can get more scoop. Thank you! –Jen@T9
I agree with Sally…while I d9 love looking at your models as role models rather than human hangers, I am often reluctant to puchase items because of the apparent lack of body fat. I believe that you are over simplifying what it means to be an athlete and a real woman. I exercise all the time, but still have a body fat above 24 percent. It would be nice to see that your clothes look good on ALL types of athletes.
I do love your models and enjoy the facts you tell about them. All are admirable women! However, when you say your models are real, regular women I don’t think that is 100 percent fact. All your models have the same body shape. They are trim, long waisted, fit and all on the thin/skinny side, or at the very minimum not one model ever appears to be even an ounce over weight. This is not the “real” world. The real world also has women of al ages trying to be fit– not just young models like you show. Every woman of every size deserves the right to good work out clothes — your models can’t give incentive to those of us who are striving to get into shape– when they all appear at the perfect weight or under weight.

How does someone go about becoming a model for this company?
Yadi
Hi Yadi,
Our model “line-up” is plum full right now. However, if you’d like to throw your hat into the ring, go ahead and send us an email at teamscout@titlenine.com. Please keep in mind that we get a lot of inquiries. Should there be an opportunity in the future, we’ll give you a call. Either way, we thank you for lovin’ Title Nine! –Jen@T9
I’ll have to agree with the other comments displayed here. Although I am a petite person, I would like to see a wider variety of models, both in size and age, in your catalogs. The world is not comprised of Size 2 20-30 something athletes and it seems that’s most of what we see. I am way fitter now in my 50s than I ever was in my earlier years.
I love looking through your catalog – not just at the clothes, but to read about your real-life models – they are inspiring! Your catalog is inspiring! As a 43 year young woman, I love being active and a positive role model for my own children. Your catalog reminds me that we, as women, can have it all – and flourish!
My daughter should be a model for you. She’s petite, but with a body she lost 60 pounds to get to! She did this 10 years ago and busts her round behind to maintain. She is a Mom to one daughter (age 2) and she is a full-time photographer who just happens to have a master’s degree in social work, a bachelor’s degree in animal science and then there is her husband and two dogs! She has a “real body” but manages to look terrific through all of her hard playing. You can check out her website at http://www.mandyleonardsphotography.com there are pics of her on the site. And we have both purchased from you guys over the years.
I’d love to see some models over 40. I’m an active 55 year old, but let’s face it I can’t begin see myself in something modeled by someone my daughter’s age. There are a lot of us out there; we are over 40 and have disposable income. I’d like to see models in my demographic.
However keep up the good work. I love the fact that this company is run by women!
