Because we get so many questions about our “models,” I thought I’d share some of our guidelines:
Rule #1: If you’ve always wanted to be a model, you can’t model for us. We only use gals with real bodies — no additives or preservatives.
Our “models” have real jobs or consuming passions. Since we spend a LOT of time with our “models,” they’ve gotta be interesting and interested, someone with whom we’d want to spend a lot of time.
And always, unselfconsciously confident.
In the end, our “models” are regular women, leading regular lives, lives not so very different from our own.

I just love your stuff, and love reading about your models. They really are interesting women. I have one request. How about a higher waist bathing suit bottom for those of us who are a little older. I can still rock a two-piece bathing suit but need to hide stretch marks and that “over-40” lower tummy bulge. I love your bathing suits but can never buy them because of the low-cut bottoms.
Hi,
I have always enjoyed looking at your magazine and getting to know your models and one day would love to have the opportunity to be apart of your inspiring team. What I find so neat about your models is they are “real.” They live everyday lives and all the challenges that come with that but yet they succeed physically and mentally.
I am a mom who got her degree in civil engineering. I enjoy art and graphic design, as well as, spending time with my family. Part of spending time with my family includes hiking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, skiing and the general outdoors. In addition to this I avidly cycle and have completed multiple century rides. I would definitely love to be apart of your team and inspire people around.
Thanks,
Mandy
I do love reading about your models – always a fascinating read. However, in all the years that I have been thumbing through your catalogue, I’ve only seen one woman with grey hair. There are many of us around who are active and interesting AND over 50. I hope Title Nine features more 50+ women on your pages soon!
Title Nine has awesome clothes. And the models in your catalog seem to be having fun all the time… who wouldn’t want to model for you.
I’m a surgeon with three boys and a wonderful husband. It would be just fun to model for your catalog. I’ve never modeled before and have never even thought about it until I saw your email this evening.
My passion is life – aside from my boys and work are… running and surfing. Currently I am trying to get into paddle boarding… wish me luck.
If you need a 5’2″ short brown girl I may be able to help out…
Hey Hi Missy,
Just as an FYI – my niece would make a wonderful “Real Model for Title Nine”
She was recently inducted into the sports hall of fame in San Jose, Ca – as the first women soccer player to be inducted – they refer to her as a pioneer in womens soccer – she is only 38. Currently she is the women head soccer coach at the University of Claremont, Claremont, CA
She as played soccer for both the LA Sol & San Jose Cyberays – she also just completed a marathon race in which she qualified for the Boston Marathon. – She also has an 11 year old son.
Really enjoy Title Nine
Hiya Lynne,
Thanks for suggesting that your niece become one of our models. Here at T9, we love active, well-rounded women! At this time, our model line-up is chock-full. Should an opportunity arise we’ll be sure to reach out. Until then, thanks for being a fan of Title Nine and good luck to your niece at the Boston Marathon – we’ll be rooting for her.
I think it is cool that you use real people to model your clothes but what i wonder is why only use the people who naturally fit the profile of a model? I like the idea of using a variety of people who do a variety of different things. Older & younger, Taller & Shorter ect. . . Also i would like to say that i appreciate your clothing because it is important to me that i am conservitive in my clothing and it is hard for a person in there twenties to look nice and cover at the same time. i would also love it if there was a store closer to where i live. I have to buy online because i live in montana. Even if it was in spokane i would go.
Just want to say, I love your selection of models who are REAL and lovely and look like they could be my friends!
The thing that kept me turning the pages of my first Title9 catalog was the image on the cover of the model wearing the clothes the way I would actually wear them – – not posing calmly, staring off into some serene landscape, but working hard! All the models are playing beach volleyball in the bathing suits or baling hay in the sweaters or practicing hot yoga in the sport bras. I think it speaks volumes about the kinds of clothes a woman can find at Title9. In the Palo Alto store, one of the lovely employees said it best when I was asking for a top that I could wear on long walking days and still look pretty. She looked at me after a beat and said, “Yeah, you can actually sweat in all of our clothes.” Amen to that! From the mother of two kids under five and an aspiring fitness role model, I can attest that I have been sweating in my dress, tops, and skirts from Title9 for years and looked great doing it!

Hi Missy,
I was emailed by a few friends about your model search, as I have worked with quite a few Title Nine’s through my fitness business. I am a very outgoing personal trainer and own a Women’s Only Boot Camp and 50+ Boot Camp with the emphasis of improving self esteem through athletics. They are SO much fun to teach, and I run them on the beach in Alameda. The women rock who I train, and honestly, I feel grateful to be challenging them mentally and physically each day. I feel grateful that my business is my own and I can enjoy teaching/coaching/training, in addition to be done with most “work hours” by 8:00 am for playtime with my kiddos, just being Mom having fun and my own training.
I am an avid runner who would rather train outside than be inside, even on the rainiest of days there is nothing like pounding the pavement and the trails. Often pushing my youngest in the jogger, I am ready to go on a whim. Right now training for another Triathlon, having raced throughout college, and love the challenge and adrenaline of each event. Having almost more fun now racing, than when in college, since I have my cheering team of my daughters and husband who who inspire me to just keep going. The juggling is always worth it when seeing them at the finish line.
Anywho, at 5’1″ I wouldn’t be your tallest model, but I do a mean Running Man and have quads that have raced many miles. In other words, I never have a problem laughing my ars off while running the hills.
Cheers!
Hi Power Fitness super woman! Really nice work on running a Women’s Only Boot Camp. Many of us T9ers participate in various Boot Camp and Cross Fit classes! Right now we’re all booked up on models but thank you for throwing your hat into the ring. We’ll reach out to you should an opportunity arise. Until then, we’ll look out for you and your class running on the beach in Alameda! –Jen@T9
And the 50+ year-old moms with teenage girls who shop your stuff? We look pretty good in your clothes, and definitely have no preservatives added! Just bought my 16-year-old a vest, some long undies, a dress, some capris over the last year. Got me into some yoga pants, a jacket, a suit & board shorts, a sun top. Woo hoo.
