Working Out
Like Miss A, I’m also saying “no” in the social media space by politely declining LinkedIn requests from people who I just meet. Surface-level connections is not what LinkedIn is about. If you are looking at my digital “rolodex” I want to make sure that who I connect is someone whose work ethic and product I trust.
I say no to peer pressure!
I say no to anything that goes against my basic prinicipals
I saw “no” to the facebook friend requests from people I just met. I’ve moved around a lot the past 15 years of my adult life. Friendships are important to me, and that means me sharing my life events as well as staying connected and on top of those of my friends. Accepting a person I just met to be my Facebook friend opens a window into my life before establishing a strong connection with them. By saying “no” I focus on building life long friendships, not adding to my friend list “count”.
I try very hard to say no to baby or bridal showers. I find them very impersonal. I would rather make time to have lunch or grab a cup of coffee with the person.
