Working Out
I was heartened by the responses of the 60+’s, being at the wrong end of that decade. As a retiree, and living on the other side of nowhere, I have lots of time to be active: hiking, biking, mucking stalls, gardening, and lifting weights so I can keep doing it all.
I have but two (non-rhetorical) questions: what is age-appropriate clothing, and why is it ok to be fat and why is it not ok to be old?
Anneke, it sounds like you are keeping more than just a little active. There’s really nothing harder than mucking stalls, so you must be pretty darn fit! Our answer to your non-rhetorical questions are that if you want to wear it and it let’s you be active, than it’s age appropriate. As for what’s o.k. and not o.k., well we’d like to see a world where women of every age and size feel good in their bodies.
I’m a 52 year old cancer survivor who loves fitness. I was fit for running for 12 years and now I’m fit for tennis, weights, little running and a little biking. Also love that you don’t change your models’ appearance.
While i order and appreciate your company’s sports bras, i continue to be unable to really shop because your sizing seems to omit women above size 12-14. Also i am often unable to really see the details of a bra and the barbells so i ordered a bra that really doesn’t do what i thought it would. I kept it but it would be really nice if i could have close ups of the various bras.
I am 70 and i, too, go to the YMCA.
I have recommended both my daughters and granddaughter to find sports bras at Title Nine as we’re all D+ cups.
Barbara, thanks for your comments. We would love to talk with you by phone to find you the right bra. Give us a call at 800-342-4448. If you ever order a bra that doesn’t work, please feel free to send it back. We have a 360 return policy that allows you to send it back for any reason at any time for up to a year. We want you in the right bra!
I am a fit 63 year young woman. I have been a nurse for 39 years and recognize the importance of being active and keeping our bodies fit for good mental and physical health. I would be happy to model for your catalog and show what beauty and fitness looks like at all phases of life:)
I just turned 60 and I am an avid cyclist and also do yoga, Pilates, hiking, swimming, and skiing. Would love to see you feature some of us “midlife” athletes! I’ve also appreciated that you use real women as models.
For chasing my 18 month old around the house and yard and in the snow and mud and grass, for being able to run up and dance down the mountain trails that we are blessed to have right behind our house, and to work a full day caring for children and their families as a nurse practitioner and still bike home and whip up a healthy yummy meal and go for a hike with my hubby, dogs and toddler!
I’m a long-time vegan athlete in my mid-30s who is a fit for anything outdoors! I’m an avid runner, hiker, golfer, mountaineer, mountain biker and I canoe regularly. I’m a holistic plant-based health coach and work with people all over the US and Canada on how to transition into a plant-based lifestyle. I’m an extra small, size 0 in everything, so I appreciate the different lines you bring in with these options! The Bellevue, WA is my home store and it’s lovely!!
I am fit for living life fully. My life in MN includes xc skiing, yoga, body pump weight lift classes, biking, tennis & running around with my toddler grandsons. I feel like a 35 yr old! Life is just beginning for this 60yr old! I started a new business after 25+ yrs in corporate life.
Title Nine clothing (sz S) is my #1 summer attire– skorts, dresses & tops for work, play, errands & outings. Please don’t go matronly on us 60 year olds!
So glad our gear can help you take on your busy life Sheila! There is really no better exercise than chasing toddlers, is there?
Try to stay fit by going to my local YMCA, doing classes such as group cycling, Zumba, kickboxing, weightlifting, and Yoga.
Tennis surfing paddleboard sailing hiking Snow skiing. I am 69 years old and weigh 106 pounds and I need extra smalls in everything and swim tops for 34A
