Working Out
You say “we use real people models.” Please define your term “real people models.” Because your models don’t look anything like many of us.
Great question Tracy. Our models are not professionals. They are busy moms, athletes, teachers, business owners, and more. They are in their 30’s, 40’s, and even 50’s. We shoot them doing the sports they truly do; be it surfing, polo, running, triathlon, cycling, soccer, even acrobatics. We are proud of the women we choose for our catalogs AND we are proud of our customers too. If you have an adventurous image of yourself in Title Nine gear, we want to celebrate you too! Post it on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and tag it #MyT9. We’d love to share your adventures.
I am a 65 year old who have had Rheumatoid Arthritis since age 3. I became a personal training so I could stay fit and healthy, but also show other women it was possible even with this disease. I used to participate in many sports but because of 12 joint surgeries I am now limited to golf, pickleball, hiking and gold panning. I am walking today because I chose to stay fit. Thank you Title Nine for allowing me to do it in style:)
Golf, pickleball, hiking, and gold panning? That is the best assortment of sports we’ve ever seen. Sounds like you’re not letting anything stop you. Color us impressed!
Regaining my fitness at 49 after kidney transplant a few years ago. Was unable to exercise due to enlargement of my heart secondary to anemia and elevated blood pressure related to my kidney failure and had gained weight due to steroids, inactivity. Started working with a personal trainer 2 years ago and now doing mixed workouts (HIIT, yoga, rowing). Kidney function and blood pressure now back to normal, heart enlargement resolved and no more anemia!! Looking forward to reaching my active duty weight (medical corps, did my residency in Hawaii) by the time I reach 50. Love Title 9 clothes (although the occasional “tall” in tops would be appreciated) and wear year round here in South Dakota.
Wow, what an amazing story Steph. Congratulations on you incredible health gains. And we’ll let our product development team know about your tall tops request!
I am fit for hiking in the mountains, kicking butt and working on my third degree black belt in martial arts, weightlifting and occasionally golfing with my husband so we have a sport we can do as we age together, and being a Girl Scout Leader so I can show the girls that no matter what body shape/size you are you have to appreciate what your body can DO! for you (and not worry about what it looks like in a bikini). It only took 42 years for me to realize that I would never have a bathing suit body but my body and my muscles allow me to be a weekend warrior with no ill effects on Monday morning. Oh, and by the way, I’ll be 50 this summer.
Hell yeah, Leigh. Love this attitude (and especially how you model this for young girls). And at Title Nine we think that if you have a body than it’s a bathing suit body, by the way!
I am a 77 year old skier, golfer, and bike rider. I used to Play Tennis run Marathons, in my younger years, in short I have been an athlete all my life. These activities keep me healthy in body and soul and have helped me cross hurdles with vigor and determination through it all .
Herta, yours’ is our new favorite mantra: “cross hurdles with vigor and determination through it all.” What a wonderful attitude. You sound like you’re leading a wild and adventurous life.
Love seeing the young mature women weighing in on fitness and Title Nine. Many of us remember what it was like BEFORE Title Nine was passed. I echo the fitness comments as an avid walker, golfer, snorkeler and yoga babe. Age is number just like sizes are. Taking my SWB’s and well loved T-9 dresses to the Bahamas and USVI in a few weeks!
Have a great trip and be sure to take some photos in all that T9 gear and post it with the hashtag #MyT9. We want to be a part of your adventures!
I am not your usual profile. I am almost 66 years old and have spent the last three years in declining health making it very hard to stay fit. BUT I love your products and your message and I am allowing you to be one of the things that will inspire me to build my way back to health and strength. Thank you for the fun spirit you bring to honoring women. I am with you! Jeane Weigel, Artist
Jeane, from your comment it sounds like you are EXACTLY our “usual profile:” a woman determined to do what she can to be healthy and strong. Best of luck to you, and thank you for letting us help to inspire you.
Little do you know how many of us”mid-life” women purchase from you. I’m 53, a former elite gymnast and classically trained dancer – activities I gave up by 20. All of my adult life I have lived with an autoimmune disorder, Sjögren’s syndrome, that effects my muscle function, nerve function and my body as a whole. What am I fit for — life. I lift weights 4 days a week to maintaining my mobility and my strength. I dance weekly to maintain my joy, ballroom, swing, and salsa. I walk daily to just manage the day to day. I appreciate the “real” people that model your wares, would love to see some of us more mature, curvy, women included as well. Why not offer a “fit at any age” catalog once or twice a year?
I am a 48 year old who loves long-distance trail running – the muddier the better! I’m 5′ and weigh 98 pounds so l need extra smalls in everything. A size -0- would also be appreciated as your size “2” is too big. I went from a 34C to completely flat after a bilateral mastectomy so bathing suits styles for small-to-no tatas are much appreciated.
Jennifer, thanks for the feedback! We’ll let our product development team know about smaller sizes. Let us know if you need help picking out a bathing suit. Our customer service gals often work with women after mastectomies and would be happy to help. Give them a call: 800-342-4448.
I’m getting fitter 😉 43 year old doing workout class every Tues, frostbite running series every other weekend usually 10-13 miles, hiking, walking and just anything else I can fit in. Love Title Nine!!
