It’s well known that our ‘model athletes’ are not professional models, and that the folks at T9HQ definitely know how to have a good time while still getting the job done. Put those two things together and it’s time to expect the unexpected. Have you ever wondered what sort of antics go on when our production crew hits the road and is shooting on location? Wonder no more.
Welcome to a sneak peek at Title Nine’s behind the scenes of our Spring 2015 shoot in gorgeous Bend, OR.
On location, anything is possible. Power tools might be involved. Ann might jump in to show the model proper clean form.
It might rain when we’re supposed to be shooting outdoors (not that it happened while we were in Bend… It never rains in Oregon, right?) Whatever the world throws at us during a shoot, we work with it.
Or, in some cases, in it. (Our photographer Martin is always game.)
Or sometimes we work very carefully around it.
(Don’t worry. The kids on the sidewalk remained perfectly safe!)
Normally at T9HQ, Alison can be found styling gear in the photo studio, Ann on the phone with photographers talking location or having meet-and-greets with potential models. When traveling, this Creative Team duo likes to explore local digs, especially when it comes to food and drink. Some of Ann and Alison’s favorite discoveries in Bend include:
– 10 Barrel Brewing Co.
– Chow
– Backporch Coffee
– Deschutes Brewery
– Glazed and Amused Doughnuts (Ann and Alison recommend the biscuits-and-gravy donut.)
The T9 team would especially like to thank:
– our photographer Martin Sundberg.
– photography assistant Nick Littlefield.
– Gerry Lopez Surfboards
– Crux Fermentation Project
– Shep the Dog for being so good (and so cute.)
– Dave (at left,) owner of Kiaola, and his wife Meg. Not only did David let us into his creative work space, but they helped with shipping transport and cooked us an amazing dinner to boot.
And of course, huge thanks to the city of Bend, OR, for the incredible time.
We would love to return to Bend — where should we go next time? Where do you think our next shoot should be and why? Share with us below!

Look to the areas around Big Bend National Park in the state of Texas. Terlingua, Chisos Basin, Chinati Hot Springs, Marfa, Alpine, Marathon, Lajitas, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. There is river rafting, hiking, bouldering, camping, biking, off-roading, and so much scenery and history to that area.

Billings MT! Beautiful place, it was a fun, hospitable town and a surprising, killer museum. Oh, don’t forget some unexpectedly good coffee.
Anchorage, Alaska of course! Come in March for skate-skiing, fat tire biking and/or kite skiing on in front of Portage Glacier surrounded by 5,000-ft peaks. Or on world-class xc ski and singlerack trails at Kincaid Park. Or on the beach with the coastal range to the west and active volcanoes to the east. And then there’s hockey and just skating on the lagoon, dog sledding on the hillside, and ski-joring on the coastal and creek trails, Alpine and backcountry skiing in the mountains… This is the land where fashion must function.
Oops, got my easts & wests mixed up but you get the idea!
Colorado Springs, CO! We have beautiful Garden of the Gods red rock plus Red Rock Canyon with the beautiful and amazing Pikes Peak 14er as your back drop. Title 9 has big fans in the Springs! Keep up the beautiful work in clothing and in catalog fun!
Bring your mountain bikes, paddle boards, and climbing gear to Duluth, Minnesota! We just won Outside Magazine’s “best outdoors city” contest, so there’s definitely a demand for outdoorsy attire. Hurry while the leaves are turning; otherwise, pack your skis, snowboards, and parkas for a more frigid photo shoot. It doesn’t really matter what time of year you come, there’s always Title-Nine type fun in Duluth. See you soon,
Jen B.
How about Maine, Jennifer? Ever visit here?
I absolutely love your clothes! From what I have read and seen it seems that Title 9 is a wonderful company as well. Cheers!
Love, Love, Love Title-9!!!!!!!!
Glad to see you all enjoyed a good time in Bend, my hometown! You hit some good spots for sure with local eats and sites. This was fun to see, wish I would’ve seen you all around town. Love the active wear you create!
Cheers! Wendy
10Barrel is full of tourists and takes forever to get in for mediocre food, unfriendly service and gross beer. Please!
I think your next shoot should be Bainbridge Island Washington. This is where I live, I ferry commute to Seattle. I’m a huge fan of Title 9 and I’m a scuba diver and I’m often seen wearing your clothing at the beach before and after dives!

Juneau, Alaska should be in your list of places for a photo shoot! We have AMAZING trails and lots of water to play in! Can’t forget our breathtaking scenery!! I am going to go SUPing as soon as I finish this email! You guys need to check this place out!
