It’s well known that our ‘model athletes’ are not professional models, and that the folks at T9HQ definitely know how to have a good time while still getting the job done. Put those two things together and it’s time to expect the unexpected. Have you ever wondered what sort of antics go on when our production crew hits the road and is shooting on location? Wonder no more.
Welcome to a sneak peek at Title Nine’s behind the scenes of our Spring 2015 shoot in gorgeous Bend, OR.
On location, anything is possible. Power tools might be involved. Ann might jump in to show the model proper clean form.
It might rain when we’re supposed to be shooting outdoors (not that it happened while we were in Bend… It never rains in Oregon, right?) Whatever the world throws at us during a shoot, we work with it.
Or, in some cases, in it. (Our photographer Martin is always game.)
Or sometimes we work very carefully around it.
(Don’t worry. The kids on the sidewalk remained perfectly safe!)
Normally at T9HQ, Alison can be found styling gear in the photo studio, Ann on the phone with photographers talking location or having meet-and-greets with potential models. When traveling, this Creative Team duo likes to explore local digs, especially when it comes to food and drink. Some of Ann and Alison’s favorite discoveries in Bend include:
– 10 Barrel Brewing Co.
– Chow
– Backporch Coffee
– Deschutes Brewery
– Glazed and Amused Doughnuts (Ann and Alison recommend the biscuits-and-gravy donut.)
The T9 team would especially like to thank:
– our photographer Martin Sundberg.
– photography assistant Nick Littlefield.
– Gerry Lopez Surfboards
– Crux Fermentation Project
– Shep the Dog for being so good (and so cute.)
– Dave (at left,) owner of Kiaola, and his wife Meg. Not only did David let us into his creative work space, but they helped with shipping transport and cooked us an amazing dinner to boot.
And of course, huge thanks to the city of Bend, OR, for the incredible time.
We would love to return to Bend — where should we go next time? Where do you think our next shoot should be and why? Share with us below!

Now, open a retail store IN BEND! We need you…
Yes, yes, yes! Agreed! Open a store here!!!! Please?
Coming from Alaska, I can recommend many beautiful places to consider for an on-site shoot, not to mention an amazing trip! There are many areas in the Southeast, Sitka, Wrangell, Juneau, however, I would have to recommend Girdwood or Homer, Alaska. They’re two of my favorite places in the state, have amazing foodand drink, and would give you the chance to shoot great photos!
Michigan in any season. Lots of variety and virtually any sport/activity. Can I help with photography or modeling if you come here?!!! Love your clothes!
Hi Deb!
Make sure you’re following out model scout page over at Facebook.com/T9scout. That’s where you’ll hear about upcoming shoots and calls for models.

Another vote for Sun Valley!!! We have an amazing trail system for hiking, biking and Nordic skiing. Great downhill and back country skiing. And local Breweries to boot!
My lady friends call our selves the Mod Squad (Mom’s on Dirt) mt biking that is, and as we get older, we think we may have to re name ourselves the God Squad (Grays on Dirt) 🙂 But we always say, Title 9 should do a shoot here. We love your clothes, your catalog and your Bio’s. PLEASE come here!
We would love to host you at our ranch!! Come to Colorado, we are 45 miles from Vail and we are ON the Colorado River. Or find our facebook page under Luark’s Quarter Circle L Ranch
We love your stuff!

I agree that the Sawtooth area in Idaho is a GREAT idea!
How about Sun Valley, Idaho? Besides the ski area–home of the world’s first chair lift and the first destination ski resort in the country (or so I’m told), Sun Valley has over 125 miles of groomed nordic trails sprawling through the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and reaching down valley through the supporting towns of Hailey and Bellevue. The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation hosts the officially-designated Nordic and Para-Olympic training grounds, and in the summer we have world class mountain bike riding trails throughout the region. We have athletes young and old and of a wide-range of capabilities including numerous Olympians (like Kaitlyn Farrington). Besides the scenery, we have a strong entrepreneurial base and amazing arts programs. Come check us out!
Next time in Bend get a photo of the high school women’s nordic teams roller skiing! Nothing like a crowd of 20 gals roller skiing up the road to Mt. Bachelor…
Lake Placid, NY and Whiteface Mountain. It was the home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics. Come in the winter for your share of all winter sports from skiing, skating, to luge and bobsled. Can’t make it in the winter, consider the summer for the Horse Show or the Ironman Triathalon. Then again there is the gorgeous fall time for leaf peeping and some great fishing! We have it all including some of the greatest female role models, not only athletes but great citizens and business women. Check us out… It will be well worth the trip! Tina
