It’s well known that our ‘model athletes’ are not professional models, and that the folks at T9HQ definitely know how to have a good time while still getting the job done. Put those two things together and it’s time to expect the unexpected. Have you ever wondered what sort of antics go on when our production crew hits the road and is shooting on location? Wonder no more.
Welcome to a sneak peek at Title Nine’s behind the scenes of our Spring 2015 shoot in gorgeous Bend, OR.
On location, anything is possible. Power tools might be involved. Ann might jump in to show the model proper clean form.
It might rain when we’re supposed to be shooting outdoors (not that it happened while we were in Bend… It never rains in Oregon, right?) Whatever the world throws at us during a shoot, we work with it.
Or, in some cases, in it. (Our photographer Martin is always game.)
Or sometimes we work very carefully around it.
(Don’t worry. The kids on the sidewalk remained perfectly safe!)
Normally at T9HQ, Alison can be found styling gear in the photo studio, Ann on the phone with photographers talking location or having meet-and-greets with potential models. When traveling, this Creative Team duo likes to explore local digs, especially when it comes to food and drink. Some of Ann and Alison’s favorite discoveries in Bend include:
– 10 Barrel Brewing Co.
– Chow
– Backporch Coffee
– Deschutes Brewery
– Glazed and Amused Doughnuts (Ann and Alison recommend the biscuits-and-gravy donut.)
The T9 team would especially like to thank:
– our photographer Martin Sundberg.
– photography assistant Nick Littlefield.
– Gerry Lopez Surfboards
– Crux Fermentation Project
– Shep the Dog for being so good (and so cute.)
– Dave (at left,) owner of Kiaola, and his wife Meg. Not only did David let us into his creative work space, but they helped with shipping transport and cooked us an amazing dinner to boot.
And of course, huge thanks to the city of Bend, OR, for the incredible time.
We would love to return to Bend — where should we go next time? Where do you think our next shoot should be and why? Share with us below!

Head to Juneau, Alaska. My sister-in-law is there, wears your clothes and is an amazing athlete. Jamie Bursell.
OAHU! Between the gorgeous beaches and tropical weather I don’t think it’s a hard sell. Not to mention the historic sights at Pearl Harbor…incredible backdrop for your incredible clothes! I’d be thrilled to volunteer in any way if you do a shoot here and will rally the USS Texas Navy wives to host y’all for an awesome dinner!
COLORADO!!!! I have lived all over the state – currently in Pueblo West. Not historically cool but getting there…We have great year round biking. World class kayak course, hiking – super close to Skiing, snow shoeing, climbing, whatever you want to do. etc…. you get the idea…. Last Dec there was record turn out for The Rock Canyon 1/2 Marathon and it was less than 10 degrees… brrr…. My husband keeps poking at me to throw my name in the hat for this. Love t9 clothes and particulary fond of my “Rundies” – which, btw, I was happy to have on a trip to Peru last month at 106 degrees…Yikes! …I guess if you make it to Southern CO we could introduce you to our chickens and make you a very fresh omelet! 😉
A big fan of yours!! Adore your clothes!
So comfortable, stylish, practical, great quality and fun to wear!
Come to CT!
Connecticut’s abundant number of well-maintained state parks and forests offer plenty of places to enjoy paddling, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, fishing and my favorite activity-trail running!
Beautiful Lighthouses make for beautiful backgrounds!
Vineyards, wineries and not to forget the film location of “Mystic Pizza” in Mystic, CT!
I know “your” Rebecca is from CT!
Is it time to visit home? 😉
You already have my application (2013) on file.
The Swiss-Miss who lives in CT! 🙂
Keep up the good work!
You RoCk Title Nine!
Seattle, WA area because we’ve got the best of both worlds: water and mountains. We swim and sail in the summer in the water. We bike and run too. In the winter we ski, sled and snowshoe in the mountains and hike anytime of year! A little rain doesn’t stop us. Plus the number of women out and about inspires me every day!
I love the pictures from the Oregon shoot!
I would love to see Title Nine do a winter mountain shoot in Breckenridge, Colorado, or even in Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I know there is a store located in Colorado Springs, and I think the mountain backdrop and snow would be stunning.
Also, there are so many outdoor activities there and delicious food as well!
Outside magazine’s Best Town Ever- Duluth, MN!
Canoeing in the BWCAW, surfing and SUP-ing on the BIG lake, top notch mountain and road biking, hiking and trail running on the Superior Hiking Trail, one of the most scenic marathons in the world and of course winter sports galore…cross country and downhill skiing, snow-biking, snow-kiting, snow-shoeing, heck even ice fishing! Funky yoga studio (Evolve) right next door to an award-winning brew pub (there are more than a few in town). Beautiful scenery year around. Uber-active, Minnesota nice people and a funky college town vibe! Just up the road from the Twin Cities (Mpls/St Paul) which has its own active lifestyle culture- but nothing compared to D-town!
The coastal towns in San Luis Obispo County get my vote for your next photo shoot. Get your beach on @ Avila or Pismo for surf & sand shots, or even try Oceano, Morro Bay, Cayucos or Cambria. Hiking trails abound in/around Montano de Oro and San Simeon State Parks, or try Bishop’s Peak, Valencia Peak, or the Pecho Coast Trail. Cycling routes for mtn. or road biking are literally everywhere. Lighthouses, a Calif. Mission, the Cal Poly SLO campus, wineries, golf courses, etc. You’d have your pick of great scenery, that’s for sure.
You should come to Spring Lake, Michigan. It is surround by water…it’s on Spring Lake with the Grand River on the other side with Lake Michigan just across the bridge. There are tons of opportunities to exercise on or near the water. Not to mention all the other water activities such as kayaking and FISHING!!! Can pull some monster salmon out of Lake Michigan. Plus it’s neighboring cities of Grand Haven and Holland were voted healthiest place in the nation scoring a 80.9 on a physical health index and the county Spring Lake is located in was the healthiest county in Michigan. Falls are amazing and winters are cold. Summers seem short but are worth the wait and everyone takes full advantage of the warm weather when we have it. Lots of bike and hiking trails that will take you to Lake Michigan which is simply breathtaking!!! We definitely take for granted the beauty that surrounds us.
Leavenworth, Wa.
Fall in Boise, Idaho…..you should not miss it.
