It’s well known that our ‘model athletes’ are not professional models, and that the folks at T9HQ definitely know how to have a good time while still getting the job done. Put those two things together and it’s time to expect the unexpected. Have you ever wondered what sort of antics go on when our production crew hits the road and is shooting on location? Wonder no more.
Welcome to a sneak peek at Title Nine’s behind the scenes of our Spring 2015 shoot in gorgeous Bend, OR.
On location, anything is possible. Power tools might be involved. Ann might jump in to show the model proper clean form.
It might rain when we’re supposed to be shooting outdoors (not that it happened while we were in Bend… It never rains in Oregon, right?) Whatever the world throws at us during a shoot, we work with it.
Or, in some cases, in it. (Our photographer Martin is always game.)
Or sometimes we work very carefully around it.
(Don’t worry. The kids on the sidewalk remained perfectly safe!)
Normally at T9HQ, Alison can be found styling gear in the photo studio, Ann on the phone with photographers talking location or having meet-and-greets with potential models. When traveling, this Creative Team duo likes to explore local digs, especially when it comes to food and drink. Some of Ann and Alison’s favorite discoveries in Bend include:
– 10 Barrel Brewing Co.
– Chow
– Backporch Coffee
– Deschutes Brewery
– Glazed and Amused Doughnuts (Ann and Alison recommend the biscuits-and-gravy donut.)
The T9 team would especially like to thank:
– our photographer Martin Sundberg.
– photography assistant Nick Littlefield.
– Gerry Lopez Surfboards
– Crux Fermentation Project
– Shep the Dog for being so good (and so cute.)
– Dave (at left,) owner of Kiaola, and his wife Meg. Not only did David let us into his creative work space, but they helped with shipping transport and cooked us an amazing dinner to boot.
And of course, huge thanks to the city of Bend, OR, for the incredible time.
We would love to return to Bend — where should we go next time? Where do you think our next shoot should be and why? Share with us below!

Great! Go to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. There is kayaking, sailing, water skiing, hiking, rock climbing, skiing (both Alpine and Nordic), and camping all close-by. And use women of a “certain age” (over 50) once and a while. As evidenced by the comments above, we buy and use sports clothes –and we wear sizes 6 and 8 too! My 90+ mother bikes regularly, and many of us 60+ year olds are competitive sportspeople. (If you are using models over 50, then they sure don’t look like it! )
Hi Chris! We love active women of every age and often feature our customers on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Next time you’re out on an adventure in your T9 gear, snap a picture and tag it #MyT9 on Instagram. We might feature it on our social media or website. After all, our favorite model is you!
Bend is filled with amazingly physically fit women in their 60s and 70s. I’m 58 and I am constantly motivated just looking at these women around town. One of the best attractions in Bend is no matter where you go, people are in sports clothes. Every time I wear my TN clothing, I get compliments. We got six inches of snow overnight, and I wore my Genie pants; I was comfortable and dry enough to shovel our driveway as well as two neighbors who need help.
As to where to go… there are several trails that start right in Bend. Or, you can drive a very short distance and be in another whole environment (think walking vs. hiking, following a trail or blazing out on your own. There are rivers, streams, waterfalls, rock walls or if you have a special request, someone knows someone who has probably already discovered it.
If you’re inclined to leave Bend proper, there are several lakes and trails that are easily accessible (Benham Falls, Sparks Lake, Clear Lake, Crater Lake for example.) Sunriver is a great playground too. Just come back to Bend, and we’ll hook you up!
I think you need to come to Mongolia for your next shoot. The summers are warm and oh so beautiful. The fall is spectacular, and of course the winters are cold. As a Colorado resident for over 40 years I find Mongolia so similar to colorado. Your clothing has come with me because nothing beats it. The sweaters, dresses, tights and everything else make me colorful in a normally black clothing place. A million thanks for your great products!
