Tariff Math. It’s not always pretty, and it’s not always clear, but we’re here to break it down for you.
Let’s talk more about our pants, your hundred dollars and those pesky tariffs. We left off with us making a whopping $2 when you bought that hundred dollar pair of pants.
And you know what? Y’all had all kind of questions, so why don’t we break it down?
49 bucks goes to making the product. That includes the old tariffs, but mostly it’s sewing, design and fabric. We don’t want to skimp here.
29 bucks goes to our website, our videos, our print magazine, and those crazy little ads that follow you all over the Internet.
12 bucks goes to shipping it right to your doorstep. And yep, that even includes processing your returns so we get you the right fit every time.
Finally, that last eight bucks goes to keep the lights on and that leaves us with two bucks left over for profit.
That 2 bucks will not cover the additional 20 bucks in tariffs. That’s the 20 bucks that comes out of our pocket and maybe yours and goes straight to Washington DC.
So maybe we’re not making a lot of money, but we are making enough money, and we’re definitely making good choices, choices that result in great product and choices that help support this awesome community that we get to be a part of.
We’re women-owned and operated, and we’ve handled bad math and worse odds before, and we’re just going to keep scrambling to make the math work for all of us.
