Because we get so many questions about our “models,” I thought I’d share some of our guidelines:
Rule #1: If you’ve always wanted to be a model, you can’t model for us. We only use gals with real bodies — no additives or preservatives.
Our “models” have real jobs or consuming passions. Since we spend a LOT of time with our “models,” they’ve gotta be interesting and interested, someone with whom we’d want to spend a lot of time.
And always, unselfconsciously confident.
In the end, our “models” are regular women, leading regular lives, lives not so very different from our own.

I am a 42 year old mom of 3 boys and was told that I should be in your catalog. I’m just a regular mom, triathlete, ex-figure competitor, and nutrition and wellness coach who just happens to wear many of the things in your catalog. So, people tell me that I look like I came straight out of your catalog.
I love your catalog and merchandise and have ordered from you several times in the past. I always enjoy reading the clips about your models as it adds an extra personal touch. Only suggestion I would make is it would be nice to see a few older models in your catalog in the 50 – 60 age range. There are many women in that age group who are physically active, vibrant and interesting women who would be great ambassadors for your line of clothing!
Debbie, Chris and Linda have got it right! If you were to research this, I imagine you would find a good number of your customers are in the late forties, over 50 range! Many very active, fit women out there with strong beautiful bodies, and I would love to see more of that demographic represented in your models. I hope you listen to your customers. Your clothing is great, customer service is great, but yes, you CAN do better!
I am 56, my last child (3) will graduate from college in May. Would love the chance to work with you and model for your catalog. Here’s to the more ‘mature’ women. (;
I too hope to live a long life. Do yoga regularly and work out often, even reffed 80 high school and college soccer games last fall. Who says we can’t keep up!
Love your clothes and just handed your catalog to my 25 year old daughter.
I believe that you use real women as your models, but how come I don’t see any that have “real” bodies. None of them have hips, or a butt, or flat chested, or a leftover baby belly.
My daughter would be a perfect model for Title Nine. 5″11″, 31 years old, great figure with no additives or preservatives. Tri athlete, competitive college swimmer, still swims 3 days a week, training for Boston Marathon by running 20 miles while pushing her 5 month old daughter in the jogging stroller, lives in NE Italy with her husband and 5 month old daughter, husband is a doctor of audiology for the Air Force, she has a PhD in Pediatric psychology, lots of fun and ready to try anything.
I love to browse your catalog and check out the great clothes. However, I find it sad that your sizes stop at 14… you know there are other women out there that do active things too!
I love your clothes and they fit me–BUT I will be 74 years old next week and I, although in good shape (mostly) do not want to show my navel–I keep looking at your skorts and pants as I am active, but like to tuck shirts in and hate having the “waist” line dropping below my waist. So although I look, I don’t buy them.
I’ve had 3 children and several abdomenal surgeries (most recently in January)–no way will I ever wear a bikini again–although I did until I was 40. I think there are other fit women who are over 50 who’d probably order clothes from you if they were a bit more discrete. I know I would.
Why don’t you ever have women my age – 58 – who are active (I am a rower), at the top of their professions, have raised children while getting there and who now are giving back to their communities in a variety of ways?
For example, my husband and I founded and run the only high school rowing program in Western North Carolina. We have almost 60 kids, most of whom are young women who are getting the true advantage of Title IX when they row in college.
Just a thought. I’ve presented this before but was shut down with a comment about only using folks in your area. Do you only sell product in California?
I run over 85 miles a week, I work out at the gym 5 days a week, I don’t have a “career”, as I work an unskilled job, but I have been distance running for twenty eight years. However I own A LOT of Title Nine clothes, and the many people in my life main pursuit is exercising in some way, I still may not be interesting enough for your ads.
